What is a Personal Chef?
A Personal Chef makes your life simpler and better. You won't
have to worry: "what's for dinner?" the answer is something
really wonderful, because Detailed Dishes has stocked your
refrigerator and freezer with food you love. You can take it
easy!

Can I afford a Personal
Chef?
Absolutely! When was the last time you calculated food costs,
your time planning, shopping for, preparing and cleaning up
meals? Not to mention all the perishables you purchased and
intended to cook, but didn't.
When employing a Personal Chef, not only are you providing
wonderful meals for your family, but buying more time to be with
your loved ones and doing the things you want to do. Having a
Personal Chef come to your home is very affordable.
You actually "buy time" since Chef Scott does the shopping,
the food preparation, packaging, and supplies you with easy
heating directions. No more waiting in line at grocery
stores, or waiting in the drive-thru lane on your way home.

What is the difference between a Personal Chef and a Private
Chef?
Most Private Chefs are employed full-time with one household,
preparing up to three meals a day. A Personal Chef has a number
of clients who regularly schedule the Chef's services on a
weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. A Personal Chef provides a
customized selection of freshly prepared meals, which are
packaged and stored for the client to enjoy at their leisure.

Can't you just
cook it and bring it over?
No, in Texas it is illegal for anyone to cook, store or sell
food out of their home unless it has been certified as a
commercial kitchen through the health department. By
cooking in your home, with your own groceries, a Personal Chef
is merely providing a service and not in the business of selling
foods out of your kitchen. This means the Personal Chef has to
provide your service on location at your house, or in a
certified commercial kitchen.

What if I need
to change my cooking date?
Life happens. Let us know as soon as possible. Fridays are
usually open dates and available for reschedules, but Detailed
Dishes may be able to accommodate you sooner.

I'm
having a dinner party / having guests for a week... can you
help?
Absolutely. Detailed Dishes is not a catering service, but
Chef Scott can come over and cook so that you can enjoy your
friends and family. Detailed Dishes can service dinner parties,
luncheons, small parties, or even just stock your freezer when
company is coming. Together we'll plan the menu and Chef Scott
will shop, cook, and clean up.

What questions should I ask my potential Personal Chef?
Ask the Personal Chef if they service your area. If not, they
may be able to refer you to someone who does.
You should also discuss any special dietary needs.
Ask them their credentials...
-Are they a member of Personal Chefs Network®?
-What is their background?
-Do they have any professional references?
-Do they have proper liability insurance?
